Snag taps former Upwork CEO as new leader

July 20, 2018

Former Upwork CEO Fabio Rosati has taken on the chairman and CEO roles at Snag, a job board focused on hourly workers that formerly operated as Snagajob. A board member of Snag since 2017, Rosati assumes his new duties effective today.

“Fabio Rosati brings to Snag a successful track record as a leader and innovator in marketplace platform businesses, particularly in the on-demand workspace,” said Habib Kairouz, Snag board member. “I can think of no one better suited to guide the teams and the technology that will take the company to the next level of success.”

Rosati takes over the role from Peter Harrison, who served as CEO since 2013 and will remain with the firm in an advisory role.

Rosati was CEO of Elance, which later became Upwork, from 2001 to 2015. Upwork ranks as the largest B2B-focused online staffing platform.

“Fabio is a seasoned technology executive and has a deep understanding of the industry Snag operates in, including its opportunities and challenges,” said David Francis, research manager at Staffing Industry Analysts. “It will be interesting to see what new innovations and initiatives he brings to Snag as he leads the firm into its next phase of growth.”

Snag rebranded from Snagajob earlier this year, and was ranked as the 15th-largest job board worldwide in SIA’s Job Board Market Report. The company states that more than five million workers are hired each year via Snag, representing approximately one out of every four restaurant, retail and hospitality hires made in the US.

“Hourly workers constitute nearly 60 percent of the US workforce, and Snag's mission of helping people get jobs and shifts at more than 300,000 employer locations in the US and Canada is a source of inspiration and pride for all of us,” Rosati said.
