ESS acquires education staffing firm Enriched Schools

July 22, 2019

Teacher staffing firm ESS acquired Enriched Schools, a New Orleans-based firm that provides substitute teacher staffing services to charter schools.

“ESS and Enriched are highly complementary businesses that together will focus on ensuring that every student has access to an enriching substitute teacher,” said Buddy Helton, CEO of ESS.

Enriched Schools was founded in 2012 and has more than 1,000 educators in its network and serves some 150 charter schools. Andre Feigler, founder of Enriched Schools, said the deal will enable Enriched to streamline its operations and innovate.

The second-largest education staffing firm, ESS, or Education Solutions Services LLC, was founded in 2000. It provides school staffing in 27 states. Earlier this month, ESS also announced the acquisition of Proximity Leaning Inc., an Austin, Texas-based firm that provides virtual teachers to schools via web conferencing.
