Philippines – Online recruitment jumps 13% in March: Monster Employment Index

20 May 2019

Online hiring in the Philippines saw a positive year-on-year growth of 13% between March 2018 and 2019, according to the latest Monster Employment Index for Philippines.

The index is a monthly gauge of online job hiring activity by Monster.com, which records the industries and occupations that show the highest and lowest growth.

The Healthcare industry recorded the highest demand growth with a 25% year-on-year rise, followed by the Consumer Goods/Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Hospitality industry, both of which recorded a 24% y-o-y growth.

Other industries monitored by the index recorded growth with the exception of the Education sector, which recorded an 11% decline between March 2018 and March 2019.

When looking at occupations, Purchase/Logistics/Supply Chain talent saw the highest spike in demand with 23% year-on-year growth.

“Online hiring sentiment in the Philippines has been consistently rising, and much of this growth can be attributed to the government’s infrastructural reforms, together with the push for greater foreign investment,” Abhijeet Mukherjee, CEO of Monster.com, APAC and Middle East, said.
