Japan – Media Five slips into loss in first quarter

Media Five Co, (3824: JP), a Japanese firm that provides engineers to the IT industry, reported revenue for the first quarter ended 31 August 2019 of JPY 357 million (USD 3.3 million), down 0.1% compared to last year.

Media Five operates two primary business segments: Business-to-Business, which includes the company’s staffing operations; and Business-to-Consumer, which involves software and project development. In addition to those businesses, Media Five also operates a construction business.

Looking ahead, the company forecasted revenue of JPY 1.59 billion (USD 14.80 million) for the year ended May 2020.

In trading today Media Five shares closed at JPY 962 (USD 8.96), up 0.21% on the day. Based on its current share price the company has a market value of JPY 948.53 million (USD 8.83 million).
