India – Labour Ministry signs Memoranda of Understanding with job firms to enhance service quality

The Labour Ministry of India signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with a number of job portals and firms to enhance the quality and reach of its employment generation services.

The Ministry has implemented the National Career Service (NCS) project through which it aims to provide employment related services to youths using technology. To further enrich and widen the employment services, NCS is partnering with HT Shine, Indeed, Freshersworld, FirstJob, Merajob, Urban Clap, Wheebox, Association of Skill Training Providers, Portea, Delivery Trackand Amity Business School.

"NCS will play a significant role in employment generation in the country,” Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said. “We are committed to expand the quality and reach of NCS and signing of these MoUs is a step in that direction."

The government is also partnering with a number of industry firms to develop a wide base of career related services for the youth.

NCS portal facilitates job seekers to register online and employers to post vacancies and search candidates free of cost.
