Total Human Cloud Spending Between USD $47 & $51 Billion

B2B Segment Up 20% Year-on-Year

Mountain View, California — September 12, 2017 — Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, has released new findings and data from research on the human cloud. Covering key findings, market estimates and detailed insights, The Human Cloud, the Gig Economy & the Transformation of Work summarizes the data and information presented in a recent 52-page report*, available for SIA members.

With technology driving transformation across industries and continents, the workforce solutions ecosystem is finding new ways to automate the connection to talent. SIA estimates that total human cloud spending reached between $47 and $51 billion globally in 2016. The business-to-business (B2B) segment of the human cloud grew approximately 20% year-over-year, with remote work arrangements accounting for 80% of human cloud revenue and highlighting flexible work location as one of the benefits of the human cloud.

“We continue to see growing maturity in the human cloud landscape,” said Barry Asin, President of Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). “Going forward more enterprises will incorporate human cloud solutions into their talent supply chain.”

The Human Cloud, the Gig Economy & the Transformation of Work includes a ranking of human cloud companies by revenue, comprising companies with revenue of at least $25 million in 2016. China heads up the largest B2B human cloud companies, with the USA making up the rest of the companies included in the top five. Japan, Israel and Australia are also represented among the top ten B2B human cloud companies.
