  • This report highlights the legal changes and developments expected to impact the workforce environment in 2018 in Canada, the US and Latin America:
    • Major changes to Canada’s Labour Code, as well as new employee rights to leave in Ontario and Alberta, are expected in 2018.
    • The US Department of Homeland Security’s regulatory agenda for 2018 indicates the administration will pursue plans to terminate work authorization for spouses of H-1B holders, overhaul the H-1B annual allotment process, and revise H-1B eligibility and wage protections.
    • Labor reform is anticipated in Argentina; the law on outsourcing is to be further clarified by the Supreme Court in Brazil.
