Temps cite five ways recruiters can do better

Temporary workers were asked what recruiters at their staffing firms could do better in a survey by Staffing Industry Analysts. Survey results revealed five things that temporary workers thought their recruiters could improve:

  1. Act more in the interest of recruits
  2. Do a better job preparing recruits for interview/assignment
  3. Find better work/more perm opportunities
  4. Improve communication
  5. Be more honest/transparent

“The vast majority, really the overwhelming majority, of temporary workers say they have a good or even great working relationship with their recruiters, but when things go wrong these are often the issues involved,” said Jon Osborne, VP strategic research and the author of the report. “Think of this as a short list of areas of particular sensitivity to temps, aspects of the relationship to stay on top of.”

The survey included responses from more than 5,777 temporary workers in North America working in a variety of segments. Some comments made by temporary workers in the survey included “more interview training is needed” and “get me feedback from the client from time to time.”
