Employers plan 11% increase in college grad hiring

May 03, 2019

US employers plan to hire 10.7% more college grads from the class of 2019 for positions in the US than they did from the prior year’s class, according to the new “Job Outlook 2019 Spring Update” survey released by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

This is down from the 16.6% increase originally projected in a similar survey in the fall of 2018. However, both the fall 2018 and spring 2019 hiring projections for this year’s graduates are in the double-digits for the first time since 2011; additionally, they follow a year-ago survey that found respondents were planning an overall decrease in college graduate hiring of 1.3%.

The employers surveyed were members of NACE. The survey is conducted in two parts: fall and spring. This release is based on data collected from Feb. 27 through March 29, 2019, from 155 NACE-member organizations.
