Total employment in Canada fell by 2,200 jobs in June from May to a total of approximately 19.1 million, according to seasonally adjusted data released Friday by Statistics Canada. However, the losses were all in part-time jobs which fell by 26,200. The number of full-time jobs rose by 24,100.

US adds 102,000 nonfarm jobs in June, but ADP report cites further slowdown in hiring

The US added 102,000 nonfarm jobs in June, but the number appears to be a further sign of a slowing job market, according to the ADP National Employment Report released today.

June’s number is up from the 41,000 added in May, but down from the 255,00 added in April and 158,000 added in March.

Nonmanufacturing activity decelerated in June to its lowest level since July 2017, according to the Institute for Supply Management’s Nonmanufacturing Index released today.
